We Live in CANADA! THE LAND OF THE FREE! Education Is Freedom: Facts Over Fear in the Age of Information

Education is freedom. Facts over fear. And we need to say that louder! Because one-sided stories are doing real damage!!!

When we only hear one version of history, one narrative, one angle, fear creeps in. Fear turns into judgment. Judgment hardens into prejudice. And before we know it, we’re stuck in fixed, fear-filled mindsets...crabs in a bucket, pulling each other down instead of climbing together!

This isn’t just political! It's literally, scientifically, neurological! Constant fear shocks our nervous systems! It fuels anxiety, burnout, and mental health crises across all communities. It literally does not matter if you are white or coloured (anymore...). And it keeps us divided, distracted, and easier to manipulate. And let's be real, coloured people have been telling this to white people since they started colonization....I mean if you read back in history and read everyone's history.....

Anyways...the point is....We can do better! We must do better!

Growth Mindset Isn’t Optional Anymore

It’s 2026. Ignorance is no longer an excuse.

We live in the age of information, not the age of gatekeeping. Hoarding knowledge, discouraging questions, and silencing critical thinking is how cults form, and we are done with cults, bullying, and blind loyalty.

Education matters. Context matters. History matters.

One-sided stories don’t create truth! They create fear. And fear never leads to justice, peace, or progress.

Growth mindset means being willing to:

• Learn what you weren’t taught everything and/or correctly and/or properly

• Sit with your discomfort

• Update your beliefs when presented with evidence

• Come to the table in good faith

• Act like a grown up; a real one
  

That’s not weakness. That’s intellectual strength.

Canada: Truth, Reconciliation, and Responsibility

Canada needs to focus, seriously, on Truth and Reconciliation. Not as a slogan, but as action rooted in education, accountability, and transparency.

We can acknowledge that we are settlers on Turtle Island and be proud Canadians. Those ideas are not opposites. They are responsibilities.

We are human before anything else. Then we are people living on Turtle Island. Then we are Canadians: diverse, hardworking, academic, blue-collar, creative, resilient people trying to survive and improve the systems we inherited.

Progress does not come from denial. It comes from honesty.

We do not need to bully for resources. We do not need to fear the world. We do not need grievance politics designed to keep us angry and divided.

We collaborate. We share. We debate. We come to the table in good faith.

That’s why the world sees Canadians as polite! Not because we’re passive, but because we know how to coexist under the tyranny of tr*umparoony bullie...but the world is changing....

Keep Canada Moving Forward

We progress. We do not regress in this beautiful norther part of Turtle Island.

We love the world! We don’t fear it. We build communities instead of tearing them apart. We work hard, care for our neighbours, and aim to make the next generation’s life better than our own, not just for some, but for our neighbours, and their neighbours, and everyone.

That’s real 'CANADIAN' patriotism.

No More Gatekeeping! Knowledge Is Power

This is also why my journey with Lavender Library Press is evolving.

Moving forward, I’ll be sharing a curated reading lists of my favourite books that I was able to read in university that really helped me change my fixed and fear-filled mindset....ideas that challenge, expand, and sharpen critical thinking and personal confidence across history, identity, politics, and humanity; ideas that showed me one-sided stories and lack of education are DANGEROUS, not the people or systems around us.....

No gatekeeping. No “you’re not allowed to know this.” Just learning, together.
