🌈 Call for Submissions: Rainbow Soup for the Queer Soul Vol. 2

Rainbow Soup is back, and this time, we’re hoping to stir the pot even more! 💜

When I created Rainbow Soup for the Queer Soul: Book 1, I was inspired by how comforting the Chicken Soup for the Soul books were for so many teens (and adults) back in the 90s. Those collections were filled with stories, advice, and little reminders that you weren’t alone.

But there was never one that spoke directly to us as queer folks. I wanted to bring that same sense of comfort and connection to our community.

That’s why Rainbow Soup welcomes all forms of writing: essays, reflections, short stories, journal entries, letters, affirmations, lists, or anything else that feels authentic to you. Together, we’re building a living archive of queer voices: messy, heartfelt, honest, and unapologetically ours.

✨ If you're a writer, a journaler, a lyricist, etc., and you’ve ever thought, “I want to help others; I want to build community ” this is your chance. Submit your words, in whatever form they take, and add your voice to the next bowl of Rainbow Soup.

I am hoping to have it out for 2026! Maybe even for Christmas if we have enough submissions!

You can share your work in two ways:

Submissions will be open until we have enough pieces to make a collection, we will update the deadline as needed, but are hoping to close them November 15th.

Everyone is encouraged to send something, whether you’ve been published before or this is your very first time sharing your words. Whether queer or an ally. Whether you believe your words matter or not...because THEY DO!

To help spark ideas (and keep ourselves cozy and warm this fall while we write), I’ll be sharing journaling prompts, reflections, and fall inspiration across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook all month long.

🍂✍️ Think of it as a collective journaling practice: we’re all writing together, and maybe what shows up in your journal this month will turn into your submission for Rainbow Soup Vol. 2.
